New Jobs and Road Improvements Coming to I-270 Corridor (VIDEO)

As many as 100 new jobs will be created in Montgomery County from development of new vaccine by the Novavax company in Gaithersburg. The vaccine still in clinical trials could help prevent one of the major causes of respiratory infections in infants, children and older adults.

Maryland Governor Larry Hogan made the company’s labs one of his stops when he visited the area to unveil new funding plans for easing congestion on I-270 and other roadways.

The new transportation funding for Montgomery County will include $1 million for shuttle buses needed during Metro’s Safe Track repairs on the Red Line in August. By September, state officials hope to begin discussing ideas for I-270 that they receive from transportation innovators.
