New Bill Aims to Help Local Small Businesses Thrive

Montgomery County councilmember Will Jawando recently introduced the Local Small Business Reserve Program and Direct Purchase Enhancement Act [Bill 39-19]. The goal of the bill is to open up more opportunities for local small businesses including non-profits.

Officials say 95% of businesses in Montgomery County have 50 or less employees and this legislation is aimed to help them thrive.

In Montgomery County, 95% of businesses have 50 or fewer employees, and nonprofits employ over 10% of our workforce.
