New Adventist Urgent Care Opens in Rockville (VIDEO)
Adventist HealthCare, an organization that provides health services based in Gaithersburg, opened its first urgent care facility in Rockville.
The new clinic is a partnership between Adventist HealthCare and Centra Care- an urgent care provider with 26 centers in Florida. It’s Centra’s first center in Maryland.
Although the place has been open for more than a week, its official ribbon-cutting ceremony was on March 18.
“More and more patients are coming in seeking care for non-life threatening illnesses and injuries. We have a physician staff here as well as nurses, techs, [and] imaging capabilities. … We have specific facilities that are dedicated to pediatric. So we do have pediatric exams as well as pediatric waiting areas,” said Amy Carrier, vice president of business development and strategic planning at Adventist HealthCare.
According to Carrier, this clinic is open seven days a week from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., and plans are in the works to open in two more locations: Germantown and Laurel.
Whether it is flu symptoms, broken bones or sprains, the new facility can provide medication attention for people with or without an appointment. Interpretation services are also available for patients who do need speak English.
“We have a dual phone system that we use. So we can treat the patient using an interpreter,” said Debbie Bush, assistant director of operational and clinical support at Centra Care.
