Neighborhood Network
MCM is launching the Neighborhood Network (NN) to improve our coverage of Montgomery County and to keep residents better connected with their local communities. So, if the lights go out at your house, we want to know about it. You can participate in the new NN as much or little as you want. If you have an event you want to get the word out about: let us know. In addition to updates, we are looking for photos, videos and even questions so we can keep residents more connected than ever with what’s happening in their community. You can become part of our NN by signing up on our website at: https://archive.mymcmedia.org/volunteers/neighborhood-network/.
Our website is called MyMCMedia.org for a reason. It is for you. So peruse our pages, watch our videos, enter your events on our calendar and consider launching a blog. As for the latter, we have a web support team working at MCM that can help set up your blog. We are actively seeking bloggers with a passion. Pets, sports, books, gardening, politics, eating out, listening to music, etc. Start a conversation with your blog.
Speaking of blogs, we have added quite a few in the last few weeks and hope you can take some time to check them out. Writer Karen O’Keefe’s “Second Glance” is already one of our most popular blogs and she’s just getting started. I love to read the comments following these posts from our readers. Check out the comments from her most recent blog post, Deer Postscript and Literary Angst.
I recently updated our Facebook page with our You Tube app and I added some of the upcoming in-house events at MCM in the new events queue on our social media page too. We hope you will follow us on FB as we post new material everyday. This is a great place to find our latest videos and events.
Finally, a note to our viewers: Montgomery Week in Review and 21 This Week will be back in the studio after Labor Day taping new episodes. Follow us on Facebook and/or Twitter to learn what the hosts of these shows have planned for their upcoming shows.
I will be reporting from the Kentlands/Lakelands 5K in Gaithersburg on Saturday, September 1. Look for a report from the race next week.
