Nearly Two Dozen Pigs Killed in Barn Fire on Darnestown Road (PHOTOS)
Nearly two dozen pigs were killed in a barn fire at Spring Valley Farm on Darnestown Road on Sunday afternoon in Poolesville, according to a Montgomery County fire official.
Fire and Rescue Services Spokesperson Pete Piringer said the blaze occurred in a non-hydrant area and water tankers were brought in to provide more water to fight the fire.
Piringer said all the horses survived.
One firefighter was slightly injured, Piringer said.
So far, no word on what sparked the blaze.
