Navarro Proposes Contractors Provide Health Insurance
Montgomery County Council President Nancy Navarro today (Oct. 30) wrote to her eight fellow Councilmembers asking their support for her proposal to “amend the County’s Living Wage law to require County contractors to provide affordable health insurance to employees who work more than 30 hours a week on County contracts and earn less than twice the Living Wage.” She also said she is “exploring legislation that would grant a preference to a bidder on a County contract who provides affordable benefits for their employees.
