National Weather Services Issues Flash Flood Watch for Montgomery County

photo of car in rainThe National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a Flash Flood Watch for Montgomery County from now through 8 p.m. on Saturday evening.

According to the Watch, rain will increase in intensity across the area Friday and into Saturday. Widespread rain totals of two to four inches are expected with locally higher amounts.

Heavy rain could fall over a short period of time on saturated soils which could lead to flash flooding, according to the NWS.

There is a potential for rapid rises of water on numerous small streams as well as in poor drainage area. Large rivers may also rise and mudslides may occur in steep terrain.
