National Weather Service Issues Heat Advisory for July 19
The National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory from noon to 8 p.m. on July 19.
Temperatures are expected to soar in the upper 90s and heat index values will be between 105 and 109 degrees.
A heat advisory means that a period of high temps is expected and the combination of high humidity will create a situation in which heat illnesses are possible.
Residents are urged to take extra precautions if they work or spend time outside. Strenuous exercise should be rescheduled to early morning or evening. Wear light and loose fitted clothing and drink plenty of water.
