National Voter Registration Day

National Voter Registration Day is Sept. 23. The Board of Elections will be distributing information on voter registration at many of the Montgomery County Metro stations.

National Register to Vote DayThe theme for this year’s National Voter Registration Day is Celebrating Democracy in America. Americans must remember to register in September in order to vote in November. The deadline to register to vote in the State of Maryland is Oct. 14.

Communities across the country are planning to use National Voter Registration Day to increase voter participation this fall.

Thousands of national, state, local organizations and volunteers will be the driving force behind National Voter Registration Day 2014. Partner organizations will coordinate hundreds of NVRD events nationwide and leverage #CelebrateNVRD in all social media platforms to drive attention to voter registration and the midterm elections.

Montgomery County will engage its constituency and community and register voters at the following events from 1  to 3 p.m.:

Staff from the Montgomery County Board of Elections will also be at the Friendship Picnic at Wheaton Regional Park on Sunday, Sept. 14, from 1 to 4 p.m.
