National Guardsman Detained on Child Pornography Charge at Six Flags Vaccination Site
A member of the National Guard was arrested Friday on a child pornography charge while working at the Six Flags vaccination site in Bowie, Md.
Frederick County Sheriff’s Department detained Daniel Joseph Morozewicz at approximately 9:15 a.m. Friday morning. Morozewicz was on duty at the vaccination site at the time.
After being suspended from the Rockville City Police Department for an unrelated personnel matter, Morozewicz was monitored by the Department of Homeland Security and Frederick County Sheriff’s Department for a three-month period.
From Sept. 8 to Dec. 30, 2020 the Department of Homeland Security and the sheriff’s department found through tracking Morozewicz that he had downloaded sexually explicit images and videos of underage girls.
After being detained, detectives were able to search the home of Morozewicz and find clear evidence of child pornography. He was then formally placed under arrest and transported to Frederick County Adult Detention Center.
Morozewicz has served with the Maryland National Guard since February 2015, and has been a corporal in the Rockville City Police Department since 2018.
In a statement, the National Guard announced that Morozewicz has been removed from active duty. The National Guard says they take these matters seriously and is cooperating with all agencies involved.
Morozewicz will be facing one count of child pornography.
The Soldier has been removed from active duty. The MDNG takes these situations seriously and will cooperate with law enforcement agencies as needed. 2/2
