MyMCMedia Celebrates One Year

cakemymcmediaoneyearMontgomery Community Media (MCM) celebrated the one year anniversary of MyMCMedia.org on March 19.

Staff informally gathered to share some cake and talk about the growth and future of the website. Our television station’s new website was officially launched on March 19, 2012. The day has added meaning for me because it was also my first day on the job as Multimedia Manager.

Some of the first posts published on the MyMCMedia website included information about early voting, the Olney library renovation project, the 6th Congressional District race, Council member Valerie Ervin named to the top 100 women list, etc.

Today, our web team publishes an average of ten new posts a day (including many photos and videos) and not including calendar items about meetings and events happening in Montgomery County.

You can also find information about training classes, program schedules and production services on the MyMCMedia website.

It’s our readers and viewers that make our site a success. So thank you for checking us out. We hope you will continue to share our site with your colleagues, family and friends.

Remember, we are always looking for more bloggers and website contributors and it is so easy to get involved. You can send a photo (pix@mymcmedia.org), start a blog, post a comment or share a calendar item. Our Neighborhood Network always needs more volunteers. If you are interested in learning more about any of these opportunities, send us a note at web@mymcmedia.org.

Our second year should be an exciting year, as we already have a lot in the pipeline. So please stay tuned, and thank you again for all your support!
