Motorcyclist Killed in Gaithersburg Collision
A 55-year-old Pennsylvania man riding a motorcycle on Shady Grove Road died after he collided with a car trying to make a left turn onto Crabbs Branch Way, a Montgomery County police statement said.
Michael Barchuk, of Cannon Drive in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, was taken to a local hospital where he died from his injuries, police said.
The collision occurred about 1:30 p.m. Friday. Barchuk was riding a 2008 Suzuki motorcycle. The automobile was a 2002 Chevrolet Trailblazer driven by Eddie Johnson, 30 of Lockwood Drive, Silver Spring, police said.
Barchuk was traveling south on Shady Grove Road, police said. Johnson was traveling north, trying to make a left onto Crabbs Branch Way. Barchuk and Johnson collided in the intersection, police said.
