More Snow Could Mean a Longer School Year for MCPS
With temperatures hitting 70 degrees today, it feels like spring but don’t get fooled. It’s only early February which means more winter weather, including possible snow, over the next few weeks.
Officials with Montgomery County Public Schools say they have used a total of three snow days so far in 2018-19, and at this time they are extending the school year by one day until June 14th. Officials added that if there are additional weather-related closings, the next make-up day will be June 5th. If there are additional days beyond that, MCPS will explore extending the school year to the week of June 17th.
