Montgomery’s Early Voting Results Favor Incumbents, Brown (VIDEO)
Montgomery County’s early voting results are in and the anticipated tight race of the night doesn’t look as close in the early voting here.
Susan Kenedy gives us an update on the early voting tabulations:
According to Montgomery County’s unofficial early voting results, Anthony Brown, Democratic candidate for governor is leading Republican candidate Larry Hogan 69.81 percent to 28.89 percent. There were a total of 35,440 early votes cast in Montgomery County.
In the county executive race, Isiah Leggett notched 71.65 percent to Republican challenger Jim Shalleck’s 27.63 percent of the vote.
In the Montgomery County Council at-large race, the four incumbents picked up the most early votes. Marc Elrich has 18.67 percent of the early votes; Nancy Floreen has 18.30 percent; George Leventhal has 17.74 percent; and Hans Riemer has 17.49 percent. The challengers, Republican Robert Dyer has 6.85 percent; Chris Fiotes, Jr. has 6.25 percent; Adol Owen-Williams has 5.70 percent; Shelly Skolnick has 6.50 percent and green party candidate Tim Willard has. 2.41 percent.
Roger Berliner, incumbent in County Council District 1, logged 74.97 percent of the early votes to Republican challenger Jim Kirkland’s 24.89 percent.
Craig Rice, incumbent in County Council District 2, notched 64.41 percent of the vote to Republican Dick Jurgena’s 35.40 percent.
Nancy Navarro, incumbent in County Council District 4, has 73.28 percent to Republican John O’Malley’s 26.50 percent.
In the school board race, at-large candidate Shebra Evans shows 48.71 percent of the vote against Jill Ortman-Fouse’s 50.75 percent.
The Montgomery County Board of Education, district 1 race has Judith Docca with 53.87 percent against challenger Kristin Trible’s 45.78 percent. The board’s district 3 race has Laurie Halverson with 36.62 percent and Patricia O’Neill with 63.05 percent. The board’s district 5 race has Mike Durso with 64 percent and challenger Larry E. Edmonds with 35.62 percent.
