September 1:  Senior Sneaker

Seniors who cannot get to the gym by 3 pm, Montgomery County Recreation has extended the Sneakers hours to all day. If the center of your choice is open, the Rec Senior Sneaker Age 55+ 1 Year pass will work starting today.  This special annual pass is for boomers and seniors age 55 or older. It is good for access to any Community Center Exercise Room and Open Gym during the Center’s normally scheduled hours. Cost $50 per year. This is a recreation basketball league for 8th, 9th, and 10th grade girls and boys, emphasizing in skill development, fundamental strategy, sportsmanship and fun of a 6 week league, no playoffs. Register to be a part of the Montgomery County Thanksgiving Parade. The Montgomery County Thanksgiving Parade, taking place on Saturday, November 19 at 10 am in downtown Silver Spring, will feature a line-up of over 100 parade units including glittering floats, giant inflatables, a wide variety of marching bands; beauty queens; clowns; fire engines; and performing dog and rescue animal groups. To be a part of this televised parade your group should submit an application by the September 19, 2016 deadline.
