Montgomery Parks Adds Selfie Stands Throughout the County

In celebration of National Selfie Day on Monday, Montgomery Parks announced the installation of 16 new selfie stands at 13 scenic park locations.

The wooden stands have two different ledges that allow for pictures to be taken at different heights for individual selfies or group photos.

“While there is no shortage of beautiful scenery throughout our 424 parks, we decided to highlight some particularly breathtaking spots,” said Kirsten Hein, parks activation manager, in a press release. “We hope visitors will enjoy exploring these areas and we wanted to make it easier for them to capture the perfect selfie to remember their experience, and to share with friends.”

Locations for the selfie stands were chosen to highlight the best-looking parts of the park. Some of the locations include a meadow, river, bridge and more to give people a wide variety of options for their pictures.

Looking for a hiking adventure with a unique view? Look no further than this site in Rachel Carson Conservation Park at the intersection of the Rachel Carson Greenway and Fern Valley Trails. There’s a great view of a unique rock outcropping and beautiful trees. This spot is recognized as one of the Best Natural Areas in Montgomery County for its great examples of park natural resources!

If you’re looking for a beautiful water view, check out this selfie stand at Lake Needwood in Rock Creek Regional Park. You can find this stand along the Westside Trail just off the paved path overlooking the lake and meadows.

This selfie stand at Burnt Mills West Special Park is located at the entrance to the Rachel Carson Greenway Trail by the dam.

This selfie stand is located on the Underground Railroad Experience Trail at Woodlawn Manor Cultural Park, outside of the fencing along the horse pasture.
