Montgomery Mosaic Features Ike Leggett

Montgomery County Executive Ike Leggett will be the featured guest on the County’s next “Montgomery Mosaic” radio show on WOL-Radio 1450 AM. The show will air on March 19, from 10:30 – 11 a.m. Leggett will discuss his FY15 Operating Budget as well as other timely topics.

The half-hour monthly radio show was launched on October 16, 2013. Last month’s show on February 19 featured the County’s African American Program Manager Heather Ross. The series airs live on the third Wednesday of each month from 10:30 – 11 a.m., providing interviews with local elected officials and community leaders about topics of interest to the African American community. Upcoming discussions will cover topics such as joint concerns with neighboring jurisdictions; the achievement gap in schools; public safety recruitments; local educational programs and seminars; careers in law and medicine; and creating jobs and supporting business. The show is co-hosted by Deborah Milo, host of the County’s “Mosaic” cable television show, and WOL-Radio’s Ron Thompson.

The “Montgomery Mosaic” radio show extends the reach of the County’s cable show, “Mosaic: An African-American Perspective” to a broader audience. Although the two shows include different guests and topics, they are aligned to provide better communications with the County’s African American community. The cable show can be found on the Montgomery County government access channel, County Cable Montgomery (Channel 30 on the Verizon cable system, and Channel 6 on RCN and Comcast). Cable show episodes are available for viewing on demand at http://montgomerycountymd.gov/CCM/mosaic.html.

The radio show is broadcast from the Radio One studios at 8515 Georgia Avenue in downtown Silver Spring. The show is also streamed live on http://WOLDCnews.com, and archived shows can be found on http://www.montgomerycountymd.gov/exec/media/Mosaic.html.
