Montgomery International Film Festival Gets the Red Carpet Treatment

Three ingredients for a successful film festival are a string of quality films, some buzz and, of course, a red carpet.

The Montgomery International Film Festival at Rio in Gaithersburg kicked into high gear this afternoon with their opening ceremony including a ribbon-cutting ceremony and a Hollywood-style red carpet.

The festival began on August 18 – with movies screening at the Rio Cinemas 18 – and runs through Sunday culminating with an awards ceremony and gala dinner Sunday afternoon and evening.

The theme of this year’s festival is the re-emergence of art house films.
