Montgomery COVID-19 Cases Surpass 8,400; Maryland Cases Near 40,000

Montgomery County COVID-19 Statistics

Monday morning the Maryland Department of Health reported 8,417 cases of COVID-19 in Montgomery County, which is an increase of 211 cases from the 8,206 reported Sunday.

According to the health department, 442 county residents have died form COVID-19. This is an increase of five deaths since Sunday. The number of probable deaths is 38.

There have been 1,936 confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 294 deaths in Montgomery County nursing homes and assisted living facilities according to the Maryland Department of Health numbers released Wednesday, May 13. The numbers include staff and residents of the facilities. The health department releases new information on Wednesdays.

Maryland COVID-19 Statistics

As of Monday morning, there were 39,762 confirmed cases throughout the state. That is an increase of 958 in the last 24 hours. There were 1,903 deaths, an increase of 27.

In Maryland, 7,806 people have been hospitalized since the outbreak of COVID-19.

Monday, 1,447 Marylanders are currently hospitalized with COVID-19, which is 13 fewer than Sunday. Of the currently hospitalized patients, 555 are in intensive care. This is seven fewer patients in ICU beds than Sunday.

A total of 12,220 cases and 792 deaths involve the state’s African American community. That is 15 additional deaths since Sunday.

There have been 7,538 confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 995 deaths in nursing homes and assisted living facilities throughout the state as of Wednesday, May 13. The number includes 5,329 cases and 983 deaths in residents. The health department releases data on Wednesdays.
