Montgomery County to Hold 12 Free COVID-19 Testing Clinics

Montgomery County is holding 12 COVID-19 testing clinics the week of Sept. 21. The clinics provide free walk-in and drive-thru testing at multiple locations throughout the county. Testing is free, no doctor’s order is required, and no appointments are needed but are encouraged.

Appointments may be made on the County’s testing website.

County health officials are asking anyone with COVID-19 symptoms to call the Testing Helpline at 240-777-1755 for assistance with testing.

The clinics are using tests provided by CIAN Diagnostic Laboratories in Frederick. Coronavirus genetic material is detected with a lab technique called polymerase chain reaction or PCR.  Testing is self-administered using a nasal swab.

Home-based testing and screening for human services are available for eligible residents. More information about home-based testing is available on the County’s testing website.
