Montgomery County Records 66 New COVID-19 Cases, Zero Deaths Friday

Friday morning the Maryland Department of Health reported 66 new COVID-19 cases in Montgomery County. That brings the cumulative case count to 21,640 since the start of the pandemic.

The county had a rolling seven-day average of 2.71% for positive COVID-19 tests, which is a lower rate than 14 of Maryland’s 24 jurisdictions.

Since Thursday no new deaths were added to the county’s coronavirus related death toll, which remains at 796. Prince George’s County leads the state in cases with more than 28,000 and has a death toll of 794.

The state recorded 543 new infections Friday, bringing its total to 119,062. Seven new deaths were reported Friday, making the pandemic death toll 3,724.
