Montgomery County Public Libraries to Host First Comic Convention

Montgomery County Public Libraries (MCPL) is hosting its first comic convention entitled, MoComCon on Jan. 21, according to a news release.

The event is opened to residents of all ages no matter your comic expertise.

This year’s event will include:
• Dalek Drawbots with FutureMakers for children
• Comic Drawing with William Jones for children and teens
• Comic Critiques with Megan Lavey-Heaton for teens and adults
• Writing Science Fiction and Fantasy and Getting Published with Don Sakers
• Panels: Diversity in Comics and Graphic Novels, Gaming and Society and The Creative Process
• Cosplay contest with prizes for children, teens, and adults. Cosplay is a costume event where participants dress in character

MoComCon will take place at the Silver Spring branch located at 900 Wayne Avenue.
All of these events are free of charge.

No weapons, including replica and costume pieces will be permitted inside of the event.
