Image of young girl swimmingUPDATED Montgomery County has opened seven outdoor pools for the summer season and operating hours are from 1 – 8 p.m. weekdays and 12-8 p.m. on weekends.

Judy Stiles, spokesperson for Montgomery County Recreation, emphasizes water safety and the importance of children learning how to swim.

“We work very hard to keep our families safe, and emphasize that an adult be within arm’s reach of children at all times,” Stiles said. “We encourage all children to be enrolled in swim lessons at a very early age.”

Stiles said the department expects over a million visitors to take a trip to one of the County’s pools from Memorial Day through Labor Day.

The pools are open to the public and there are no memberships required. Visitors can pay a daily admission or opt for a pool pass.
