Montgomery County Police Crime Summary

Thefts from Vehicles Summary:

Rockville District:

Two thefts from vehicles occurred between about 3:30 p.m. Feb. 15 and about 2:30 p.m. Feb. 16. One theft occurred in the 200 block of Poplar Spring Road and one theft occurred in the 1000 block of Elmcroft Boulevard. No force; property was taken.

Bethesda District:

Multiple thefts from vehicles occurred between about Feb. 12 and Feb. 17. Affected streets included Wisconsin Avenue; Bradley Boulevard; Delfield, Thornapple Fulton and Taylor streets; Brennon and Fairglen lanes; and Fairfax Road. Force was reported in one event; cash and property were taken.

Police arrested a 31-year-old man from Silver Spring for two thefts from vehicles in the 5500 block of Johnson Avenue about 10:30 p.m. Feb. 14. No force; cash and property were taken.

Wheaton District:

Four thefts from vehicles occurred between Feb. 12 and Feb. 16. Affected streets included Grand Pre Road, Georgia Avenue, and Layhill Road. Force was reported in one event; cash and property were taken.

Police arrested a 30-year-old Oxon Hill man for one of the Grand Pre Road thefts.

Two thefts from vehicles occurred in the 700 block of Northwood Terrace between about 4 p.m. Feb. 13 and about 9 a.m. Feb. 14. No force; property was taken.

Germantown District:

Three thefts from vehicles occurred between Feb. 12 and Feb. 15. Affected streets included Apple Harvest Circle, Winding Brook Lane, and High Point Drive. No force; property was taken.

Multiple thefts from vehicles occurred in the 23800 block of Rolling Fork Way in the early morning hours of Feb. 19. No force; cash and property were taken.

Four thefts from vehicles occurred between Feb. 12 and Feb. 15. Affected streets included Port Haven and Lowefield drives; Shadyside Lane; and Bent Willow Circle. No force; cash and property were taken.

Three thefts from vehicles occurred between Feb. 15 and Feb. 19. Affected streets included Falling Star Road, Beechnut Way and Country Meadow Road. No force; cash and property were taken.

Montgomery Village District:

Multiple thefts from vehicles occurred between Feb. 12 and Feb. 16. Affected streets included Meadow Vista Way, Silverfield Drive, Fountain Valley Drive, Mill Run Drive and Drexel Hill Place. No force; cash and property were taken.

Other Incidents:

Rockville District:

A commercial armed robbery occurred at the Dunkin’ Donuts at 16220 Frederick Road in the early morning hours of Feb. 15. The man displayed a weapon and stole cash.

A man committed a commercial burglary at the Metro Beer and Wine store at 15921 Frederick Road in the early morning hours of Feb. 16. Forced entry; cash and merchandise were taken.

Bethesda District:

A vehicle theft occurred in the 5100 block of Fairglen Lane between about 12:30 a.m. and about 7 a.m. Feb. 16. No force; the keys were reported to have been left inside the vehicle.

A man attempted a residential burglary in the 4600 block of Rosedale Avenue at about 8:52 p.m. Feb. 20.

A man in his late teens or early 20s committed a residential burglary in the 5700 block of Warwick Place in the early morning hours of Feb. 18. No signs of forced entry, a door was reported to have been left unlocked; nothing was taken.

A residential burglary occurred in the 9200 block of Laurel Oak Drive between about 11:30 a.m. and about 2:30 p.m. Feb. 17. Forced entry; property was taken.

Silver Spring District:

A man attempted a commercial armed robbery at the Exxon gas station at 701 University Blvd. East in the early morning hours of Feb. 14. The man displayed a weapon and tried to steal cash.

A residential shed burglary occurred in the 1100 block of West Nolcrest Drive in the early morning hours of Feb. 15. No signs of forced entry, the shed was reported to have been left unlocked; property was taken.

A residential burglary occurred in the 13800 block of Castle Boulevard between about 7:30 a.m. and about 7 p.m. Feb. 20. No signs of forced entry; nothing was taken.

Three teenage boys committed an armed robbery in the area of Angelton Court and Angelton Terrace about 9:06 p.m. Feb. 20. One culprit displayed a weapon, assaulted a woman, and took her property.

Wheaton District:

Two man, between the ages of 20 and 29, committed an armed robbery occurred in the 3300 block of Claridge Court about 3:29 p.m. Feb. 19. One man displayed a weapon. The culprits assaulted a man and took his property.

Police seek a man in connection with an aggravated assault in the 11100 block of Veirs Mill Road about 7 p.m. Feb. 15. The suspect assaulted a woman.

Three teenagers committed a strong-arm robbery in the 2100 block of University Boulevard West about 9:13 p.m. Feb. 16. The culprits assaulted a man and took his cash and property.

Germantown Police:

A residential burglary occurred in the 11700 block of Tall Pines Drive between about 12 a.m. Feb. 14 and about 4 p.m. Feb. 15. Forced entry; property was taken.

An attempted residential burglary occurred in the 12000 block of Brittania Circle between about 7:15 a.m. and about 12:19 p.m. Feb. 15.

Montgomery Village District:

Vehicle thefts occurred in the following areas:

  • In the 9200 block of Centerway Road between about 5 p.m. Feb. 15 and about 4 p.m. Feb. 16. Unknown entry.
  • In the 18600 block of Walkers Choice Road between about 6:30 p.m. Feb. 17 and about 11 a.m. Feb. 18. Unknown entry.

A residential garage burglary and two thefts from vehicles occurred at the same home in the 19900 block of Silverfield Drive between about 9 p.m. Feb. 14 and about 9 a.m. Feb. 15. No signs of forced entry, the garage door and both vehicles were reported to have been left unlocked; cash was taken.
