Montgomery County Nonprofits to Receive $120,000 in Grants from United Way

United Way of the National Capital Area (United Way NCA) will award several grants to Montgomery County based nonprofits. The announcement is set to take place during a news conference on Tuesday at the Council Office Building on 100 Maryland Avenue.

Each grant focuses on United Way’s $10 million investment into education, financial stability and health of residents throughout the Washington D.C. region according to a news release. Over $1.5 million in investments in Montgomery County over the past year are the result of community impact grants. 

Montgomery County Council President Nancy Floreen along with President and CEO of United Way NCA, Rosie Allen-Herring, will present a ceremonial check to seven nonprofits based in the County.

Montgomery Community Impact Fund grants will be awarded to:

• The Dwelling Place
• Food & Friends
• Gaithersburg HELP
• House of Ruth Maryland
• Identity
• Jewish Social Service Agency
• San Miguel School
