Montgomery County Makes $15 Million PPE Purchase to Prepare for Fall, Spring
The Montgomery County Department of General Services and Office of Procurement made a purchase of nearly $15 million for personal protective equipment [PPE] within the past month, according to county leaders.
Office of Emergency Management Director, Dr. Earl Stoddard says this is a continuous effort to make sure that the county is prepared amid the COVID-19 pandemic moving forward into the fall and spring.
Dr. Stoddard explains how PPE is expanding throughout the county:
Also, the county is seeking help from the public for donations of personal protective equipment. PPE is needed to help keep essential workers safe while working on the pandemic’s front lines, according to the Montgomery County government website. Personal Protective Equipment includes:
- Respirators (N95 or KN95)
- Masks (surgical or procedural)
- Gowns (medical, isolation, or surgical)
- Face Shields (medical goggles or safety glasses)
- Gloves
