Montgomery County Crime Summary for June 5-13

Incidents and arrests from the latest Montgomery County Crime Summary.

Rockville:

A residential garage burglary occurred in the 12000 block of Chase Crossing Circle between about 8 a.m. June 6 and about 4:50 p.m. June 10. No signs of forced entry, the garage door was reported to have been left open; property was taken.

A residential burglary occurred in the 13600 block of Valley Oak Circle between about 10 a.m. and about 5:30 p.m. on June 7. Forced entry; property was taken.

Bethesda:

An aggravated assault occurred in the 3600 block of Perry Avenue at about 3:56 p.m. June 9. The assailant displayed a weapon.

An attempted commercial burglary occurred at the Brandywine Group at 11810 Parklawn Drive between about 2 p.m. June 10 and about 6:45 a.m. June 12.

Multiple thefts from vehicles occurred between June 5 and June 11. Affected streets included North Park, Willard and Massachusetts avenues, and Friendship Bayard boulevards. Force was reported in two events, two vehicles were reported to have been left unlocked, unknown means of entry into the other vehicles; cash and property were taken.

Four teenagers were arrested for a burglary that occurred at Wyngate Elementary School at 9300 Wadsworth Drive at about 9:14 p.m. June 11. No signs of forced entry, a door was reported to have been left unlocked; nothing was taken. The teens were all 14-year-olds from Bethesda.

Four women committed a commercial strong-arm robbery at the Guess store inside Westfield Montgomery mall at 7101 Democracy Blvd. about 2:10 p.m. June 8. The women assaulted two adult female employees stole merchandise.

Silver Spring:

Three residential burglaries occurred:

  • In the 8700 block of Georgia Avenue about 3 p.m. June 9. No signs of forced entry; property was taken.
  • In the 8600 block of 2nd Avenue between about 4:30 a.m. and about 12 p.m. June 11. No signs of forced entry, a door was reported to have been left unlocked; property was taken.
  • In the 8700 block of Georgia Avenue at about 9:55 p.m. on June 13. No signs of forced entry, a door was reported to have been left unlocked; property was taken.

Multiple thefts from vehicles occurred during this reporting period. Affected streets included Wayne, Eastern and Georgia avenues, Ripley and Easley streets, Blair Mill Road, and Fidler Lane. Force was reported in six events, one vehicle was reported to have been left unlocked, unknown means of entry into the other vehicles; property was taken.

Police are looking for a 35-year-old man for an attempted residential burglary that occurred in the 9900 block of Forest Grove Drive about 11:56 a.m. June 6.

A theft from vehicle occurred in the 8200 block of Garland Avenue between about 7:30 p.m. June 9 and about 9:30 a.m. June 10. Force; vehicle parts were taken.

Police are looking for a man, about 27 years old, for a strong-arm robbery that occurred in the 1000 block of Navahoe Drive about 10:08 p.m. June 11. The man assaulted the adult male victim and took his property.

An attempted strong-arm robbery occurred in the 1000 block of Quebec Terrace at about 8:50 a.m. June 13. The suspect assaulted the adult female victim and attempted to take her property.

A residential burglary occurred in the 8400 block of 10th Avenue between about 12:30 p.m. and about 1:30 p.m. June 13. Forced entry; property was taken.

Three residential burglaries occurred:

  • In the 10300 block of Parkman Road between about 7 a.m. June 4 and about 8 p.m. June 9. Forced entry; property was taken.
  • In the 500 block of Southampton Drive in the early morning hours of June 9. Forced entry; nothing was taken.
  • In the 1100 block of Cresthaven Drive between about 7:30 a.m. and about 5 p.m. June 12. Forced entry; property was taken.

Police seek a man between the ages of 20 and 29 for a residential burglary that occurred in the 13400 block of Fairland Park Drive at about 3:49 p.m. June 7. Forced entry; property was taken.

Multiple thefts from vehicles occurred between June 5 and June 11. Affected streets included Lockwood, Saddle Creek, Outlet and Featherwood drives, Bellevue Street, Treetop Lane, Vivaldi Court, Autumn Glen Circle, and Colgate Way. Force was reported in multiple events, one vehicle was reported to have been left unlocked; unknown means of entry into the other vehicles; property and vehicle parts were taken.

Police seek three men in their late teens for an armed robbery that occurred in the 13900 block of Castle Boulevard in the early morning hours of June 10. One of the teens displayed a weapon. The teens took the adult male victim’s property.

Wheaton:

Two boys from Sandy Spring were arrested for a residential burglary occurred in the 17900 block of Brooke Road about 4 p.m. June 8. No signs of forced entry; property was taken. One boy was 12; the other, 11.

Multiple thefts from vehicles occurred between June 8 and June 9. Affected streets included Saint Florence Terrace, Bishops Castle Drive, Chipping Court, Carnegie Hall Circle, and Georgia Avenue. No force, unknown means of entry into the vehicles; change was taken.

A 27-year-old man from Silver Spring was arrested for a vehicle theft that occurred in the 4000 block of Postgate Terrace between about 8 p.m. June 4 and about 6:30 a.m. June 5. Unknown entry. The vehicle was recovered on June 5. A suspect was arrested.

An attempted residential burglary occurred in the 14200 block of Georgia Avenue between about 6:30 a.m. and about 7:20 p.m. June 6.

A residential burglary occurred in the 2100 block of Queensguard Road between about 7:30 p.m. and about 9 p.m. June 9. Forced entry; property was taken.

Three teenagers were arrested for a strong-arm robbery that occurred in the area of Pear Tree Lane and Weeping Willow Court about 3 p.m. June 12. The teens assaulted the adult male victim and took his property. Police arrested an 18-year-old from Landover, and a 15-year-old and a 17-year-old from Silver Spring.

A residential burglary occurred in the in the 2400 block of Sheraton Street in the early morning hours of June 12. No signs of forced entry, a door was reported to have been left unlocked; property was taken.

An adult and two teenagers from Baltimore were arrested for an armed robbery that occurred in the 11200 block of Monticello Avenue in the early morning hours of June 13. One of the three displayed a weapon. The group took the adult male victim’s cash and property. Police arrested a 20-year-old, a 17-year-old and a 15-year-old.

Police are looking for three men, between the ages of 20 and 29, for a strong-arm robbery that occurred in the 11100 block of Veirs Mill Road at about 8:36 p.m. June 10. The men took the juvenile male victim’s property.

Germantown:

Police are looking for a man between the ages of 20 and 30 for a theft from vehicle that occurred in the 100 block of Tall Cedar Court in the early morning hours of June 9. No force, unknown means of entry into the vehicle; nothing was taken.

Multiple thefts from vehicles occurred between June 7 and June 10. Affected streets included Seneca Ayr, Pine Needle, Greenridge, and Greenbrook drives; Thorngate Lane; and Ethel Rose Way. No force, unknown means of entry into the vehicles; cash and property were taken.

A 52-year-old man from Germantown was arrested for an aggravated assault that occurred in the 19800 block of Century Boulevard at about 3:30 p.m. June 11. The suspect displayed a weapon. The suspect was arrested.

Two residential burglaries occurred:

  • In the 13400 block of Queenstown Lane between about 5 a.m. and about 6 p.m. June 7. Forced entry; property was taken.
  • In the 14500 block of Bubbling Spring Road between about 9 a.m. and about 1 p.m. on June 12. No signs of forced entry, a door was reported to have been left unlocked; property was taken.

Three males are sought for an attempted residential burglary occurred in the 18300 block of Fable Drive at about 11:47 a.m. June 12.

Montgomery Village:

Three teenagers were arrested for an attempted armed robbery that occurred in the area of Montgomery Village Avenue and Brassie Place about 10:32 a.m. June 7. Two of the teens displayed weapons. The adult male victim was assaulted and the teens tried to take his property. Police arrested a 16-year-old from Rockville, a 15-year-old from Montgomery Village and a 14-year-old with an
