Update: Montgomery Blair Reopens After Bomb Scare, Principal Says
Montgomery Blair High School in Silver Spring has evacuated its students because of a bomb threat.
Montgomery County Public Schools sent this message to parents:
Due to a bomb threat the school is currently evacuated. We are working with Montgomery County police, fire and rescue as they conduct an investigation. Please be patient as this investigation continues. We will update you as more information becomes available.
The school system then followed up with this message:
Police continue to investigate the threat and students remain evacuated. Law enforcement has given the school permission to dismiss on time at 2:30p.m. except for students who ride the magnet program bus, who will be dismissed at 3:25p.m.

Athletic competitions are contingent upon the time we re-enter the building. I will keep you posted. The building is not cleared for re-entry. https://t.co/h16Jr6s9NG

The principal announced the evacuation over Twitter:
We had a bomb threat, so we have evacuated the building. Staff is with students on campus. Police are on campus to investigate the threat. I’ll keep you updated on this emergency.

All students were to be released at 2:30 p.m.
All students including 9th period students, will dismiss at 2:30, if you need to re-enter the building or wait for a later bus, please remain in the stadium. Our building is not cleared yet for re-entry. Staff is with students.
