Montgomery County COVID-19 Statistics

Since Thanksgiving, the Maryland Department of Health has reported 1,141 new cases of COVID-19 in Montgomery County—342 Friday, 189 Saturday, 313 Sunday and 297 Monday. The county’s cumulative case count is 33,400.

The county has a rolling seven-day average of 4.96% for positive COVID-19 tests, which is an increase of 0.31 from Sunday’s average rate of 4.65%. The county’s positivity rate is lower than in 20 of Maryland’s 24 jurisdictions.

Montgomery County recorded 15 new coronavirus-related fatalities since Thursday, Nov. 26—five Friday, three Saturday, four Sunday and three Monday—bringing the death toll to 912.

Montgomery County leads the state in total COVID-19 related fatalities; Prince George’s County has 906 fatalities and the most coronavirus cases in the state with 41,297 cases.

Maryland COVID-19 Statistics

Since Thanksgiving, the state recorded 7,890 new infections—2,378 Friday, 1,590 Saturday, 1,999 Sunday, and 1,923 Monday. This is the 27th consecutive day the state recorded more than a thousand new cases. The state’s cumulative case count is 198,370.

COVID-19 related hospitalizations continue to climb. On Monday, the state reported 1,527 patients were hospitalized across the state with the virus, a number not seen since May.

Maryland recorded 91 new coronavirus-related fatalities since Thursday, Nov. 26—22 Friday, 33 Saturday, 23 Sunday and 16 Monday—bringing the death toll to 4,486.

The state reported a rolling seven-day average of 6.86% for positive COVID-19 tests Monday. This is an increase of 0.33 from Sunday’s rate of 6.53%.
