Miss Fire Prevention (Photos)

Cari McHenry, a 15-year-old Gaithersburg High School junior, was crowned the Maryland State Firemen’s Association North Central Junior Miss Fire Prevention earlier this year.

She is the first contestant from Montgomery County to win the honor.

On July 16, Cari was honored by the Montgomery County Council as she prepares to travel the state of Maryland as an ambassador to help promote fire and injury prevention to audiences of children, teens and adults.

At the ceremonies in Rockville were, left to right: Councilmembers Phil Andrews and Craig Rice; Cari’s mother, Carolann; and her brother, Robert.
