Minority Business Certification Workshop on Oct 9
The city of Gaithersburg Department of Economic Development is joining with the African American Chamber of Commerce (AACC) of Montgomery County and the Montgomery County Department of Economic Development to host the Maryland Department of Transportation’s (MDOT) Application Assistance Workshop. Conducted by MDOT’s Office of Minority Business Enterprise, the workshop is intended for businesses interested in applying for certification as a Minority Business Enterprise, Disadvantaged Business Enterprise and/or Airport Concession Disadvantaged Business Enterprise.
The free workshop will take place on Oct. 9, beginning at 9:30 a.m. at the Hampton Inn, 960 North Frederick Avenue in Gaithersburg and will include an examination of the five eligibility standards and a review of the complete application process. Also discussed will be how to connect to business opportunities with the State of Maryland and valuable marketing and business development tips.
Representatives from the city of Gaithersburg Department of Economic Development, the Montgomery County Department of Economic Development and the Local Small Business Reserve Program will be on hand to provide overviews of their resources.
