Minimum Wage Bill Signed (Photos)

minimum wage dec 5Montgomery County Executive Ike Leggett signed a bill on Dec. 5 that will raise the minimum wage from $7.25 to $11.50 over a four year period.

Prince George’s County recentl y followed Montgomery County, passing a similar measure, and the District of Columbia is moving to do the same.

“The victory is for the people who have to live at the bottom of the margins in Montgomery County,” said Councilmember Marc Elrich, who was the chief sponsor of the bill.

The bill was co-sponsored by Valerie Ervin and Nancy Navarro.
