MetroExtra Bus Launch
Montgomery County Executive Isiah Leggett celebrated the launch of new MetroExtra bus service on New Hampshire Avenue, the first such service in Maryland, at 10 a.m. on Jan. 7 outside the Fort Totten Metrorail Station, 550 Galloway Street, NE.
The new Route K9 is a limited-stop service that helps relieve crowding between Northwest Park and Fort Totten. This corridor has the third highest ridership in Maryland.
Joining Leggett: County Councilmembers Roger Berliner, Hans Riemer and Valerie Ervin, Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (Metro) Board Member Kathy Porter, Metro General Manager and CEO Richard Sarles and Metro Board Member and DC Councilmember Muriel Bowser.
