UPDATED: Metro Now Able to Process Credit and Debit Cards (PHOTO)
UPDATED Metro vending machines are now able to process credit and debit card transactions after technical problems earlier today.
“Due to an equipment malfunction earlier today, most vending machines were unable to accept credit or debit cards. The outage also affected online fare purchases.We apologize for this inconvenience and appreciate your patience while resolving this issue,” Metro officials said in a statement.
An equipment malfunction has left metro vendors unable to process credit and debit card transactions at Metro stations. Metro released a statement on its website and is working to resolve the issue. Some vending machines may accept credit card transactions less than $20, Metro officials said.
The technical malfunction affects online purchases. Customers are advised to use cash.
