Metro Extends Service for Caps Games

Verizon Center and Metro have announced that late-night service would be provided following any Capitals playoff games that run later than 11 p.m.

In the event that a Capitals playoff game is still in progress at 11 p.m. on a night when the rail system would normally close at midnight, Metro will provide an additional hour of service from Gallery Place, Judiciary Square and Metro Center stations.

An announcement will be made within Verizon Center if an additional hour of service will be provided. Fans entering the system after midnight must use the following station entrances:

Gallery Place (any entrance)
Judiciary Square (F Street entrance across from National Building Museum)
Metro Center (11th & G Street entrance only)
Entrances at all other Metro stations will close at their normal times, but customers will be able to exit at all stations during the additional hour of service.

If late-night service is provided, customers should enter the system no later than 12:45 a.m. to ensure that they make the last trains.

The extended Metrorail service is funded through an agreement with Verizon Center.
