Meetings Set to Explain MCPS Equity Accountability Model
MCPS Office of School Support and Improvement (OSSI) plans to host a series of community meetings at nine different MCPS high schools in the county to learn about the MCPS Equity Accountability Model.
Members of the community are invited to attend and participate in a community conversation about how to improve existing strategies that are used to monitor and report student achievement in Montgomery County.
According to MCPS Office of School Support and Improvement, their mission is to “create the conditions necessary for every student to experience academic excellence through the development and implementation of:
- professional learning
- comprehensive and coordinated programs and services,
- and a focus on learning, accountability, and results.”
While MCPS schools are reported by Niche to be 2019’s second best school district in Maryland, past data released in 2017 by the Montgomery County Board of Education has shown that MCPS is still working to improve academic achievement levels for all students.
The meetings to discuss how student achievement is being monitored and reported will take place on the following dates:
1. Monday, April 8 – 7:00 – 8:30 p.m.
- Col. Zadok Magruder High School
- Sherwood High School
- Damascus High School
2. Wednesday, April 24 – 7:00 – 8:30 p.m.
- Paint Branch High School
- Watkins Mill High School
- Montgomery Blair High School
3. Monday, May 13 – 7:00 – 8:30 p.m.
- Rockville High School
- Quince Orchard High School
