Meet Vincent Sarageno, Senior Production Technician and More
Vincent Sarageno was hired earlier this summer as Montgomery Community Media’s senior production technician and production operations coordinator.
He began his new job at MCM just before the primary election in late June. Before arriving at MCM, Sarageno worked in a variety of positions at other local and national television outlets.
“I have done just about every non-administrative position you can do at a television station,” said Sarageno. “I started as an intern with Conus Sports and worked very closely with the Minnesota Vikings. I was a newscast director in LaCrosse, Wisconsin and in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. I worked as a Master Control Supervisor for five years with Discovery Communications. I have done a lot of one-man band journalism for news and sports and have produced some local television shows.”
One of his first long form assignments at MCM is putting together a documentary about a project-based learning initiative at a local elementary school. He also recently completed some promos about blogging on the MyMCMedia website.
“That was a lot of fun,” he said. “By far, my favorite section of the website is the blogs. I really enjoyed making the blogger promos and the best part of making them was to read the blogs. MCM has some very talented and diverse bloggers.”
He said he’s excited about the different projects and the people he gets to work with at MCM.
“I have yet to have two similar days,” Sarageno said. “I don’t know what to expect when I walk through the door every morning and I like that.”
When he is not at work, you will probably find the single dad at home in Aspen Hill with his two young sons where he enjoys photography, cooking and watching minor league baseball and hockey (he’s a New Jersey Devils fan).
“I just bought a condo in the Aspen Hill part of Silver Spring. I love it and my kids enjoy being here as well. The great restaurants and living close to D.C. is great,” said Sarageno. “I also work as a Pitch Tracker for Minor League Baseball. I run a software program that tracks pitches and is used by scouts of the Washington Nationals.”
So how does he like his new job at MCM?
“I have worked with some great people over the years. Some who you see today on ESPN and national news. I can tell that I work with some great and talented people here at MCM,” said Sarageno. “I love this job and all of the challenges that come with it. This is a dream job to me.”
Welcome aboard Vincent. I can see you are going to be an amazing asset to MCM.
Thank you, Mary Ruth.
