Meet Trainer Omri Haberman (Photos)
There’s a new trainer now teaching classes at Montgomery Community Media (MCM). His name is Omri Haberman and he’s no newcomer to our TV station.
Five years ago, Haberman began his career at MCM in September of 2008, working in a variety of different positions.
“My main role and title was a production technician, however I’ve also worked for the training department as a TA [teaching assistant] for the different classes and field projects,” said Haberman. “I also worked for the technical support department as a playback operator, and helped with renovations.”
An electronic media and film graduate of Towson University, Haberman said he has also taken TV production classes at Montgomery College.
Originally from Israel, Haberman moved to the United States 12 years ago.
“Back at home I have two parents, two sisters, four nephews and one niece who I miss a lot,” he said.
Today, Haberman is married with a newborn and his growing family here also includes a puppy that, he said, “always brings excitement to our lives.”
As he begins the new year with a new job and a new baby, Haberman said he’s excited about the year ahead.
“I applied for the Trainer position since I’ve already worked for the training department as a TA and loved every second of it,” Haberman said. “I’m not only excited but also thrilled to stay here at MCM. I’m highly motivated to start my new job and can’t wait to meet new students. I’m also looking forward to work with our wonderful TA’s who I know I can trust.”
So what’s his teaching style?
“My goal is to always find the balance between professional and fun,” Haberman said. “Also, I understand that different people with different backgrounds have different skills and it is my goal to have them walk out the door at the end of the day understanding what they’ve learned along with a big smile.”
