Medical Marijuana Dispensaries Set to Open in Bethesda and Silver Spring
RISE, a medical cannabis dispensary, is set to officially open in Bethesda on Saturday, December 1. RISE Bethesda made the announcement on its Facebook page. RISE has plans to begin selling product at its Silver Spring dispensary in the coming weeks, according to Bethesda Beat.

BisNow reports that the two dispensaries operate under the same brand but not the same owner. RISE currently has four dispensaries. In addition to the two Maryland locations, RISE has two dispensaries in Nevada.

Maryland’s legislature decriminalized small amounts of marijuana for medicinal use in 2014. However, the state has been slow to award dispensaries with the necessary licenses to distribute the product.
