Md. Attorney General Brian Frosh Calls For An Independent Investigation on Russia

Maryland Attorney General Brian Frosh has joined 20 other attorney general’s calling for an independent investigation of Russian interference in the presidential election, according to a news release.

This response comes after the firing of former FBI Director James Comey

In a letter sent to the U.S. Department of Justice’s Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein, attorneys called the firing of Comey during his ongoing investigation, “a violation of public trust.”

“Deputy Attorney General Rosenstein must appoint a special counsel immediately,” Frosh said on a twitter post.

Joining Attorney General Frosh in Thursday’s letter are attorneys general from California, Connecticut, Delaware, the District of Columbia, Hawaii, Iowa, Illinois, Maine, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New Mexico, New York.
