MCPS to Host its Annual Drive For School Supplies
Montgomery County Public Schools is scheduled to host its annual drive for school supplies on July 13 from noon to 5 p.m. at the Richard Montgomery High School cafeteria.
Every summer, according to a news release, MCPS distributes new and gently used school supplies to Montgomery County families.
School staff collect these supplies when students and staff clean out lockers, desks, and closets at the end of the school year.
In 2014, more than 25,ooo pounds of school supplies helped families in need.
This is the drive’s 16th year and according to school officials has collected more than 81 tons of school supplies.
The program is a collaboration between Learn Shop, Inc., and MCPS.
