MCPS to Celebrate Drive for School Supplies
Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) will celebrate its annual Drive for Supplies program at a 10 a.m. press conference on July 15, at Richard Montgomery High School. Board of Education President Christopher Barclay, student BOE member Justin Kim, and Superintendent of Schools Joshua P. Starr will join other officials as Drive For Supplies celebrates its 14th year.
Each summer, MCPS distributes new and gently used school supplies to Montgomery County families in need. MCPS expects to distribute more than 16,000 pounds of school supplies. The supplies come from MCPS students and staff who collect and donate supplies as they clean out lockers, desks and closets at the end of the school year.
Immediately following the July 15 event, MCPS schools, families and nonprofit agencies may pick up free supplies for students who need them.
The event will take place at;
Richard Montgomery High School
250 Richard Montgomery Drive
