RMHS Students Protest in Rockville, One Student Injured

Updated: Rockville City Police Department confirmed they have identified a suspect who faces second degree assault.

One student was injured during a protest in downtown Rockville on Wednesday morning.

WTOP initially reported the incident.

According to Rockville City Police, students from Richard Montgomery High School began protesting at 10 a.m. on Wednesday.

According to police, students marched down Fleet Street before ending their protest at the school’s football field.

Police said one student was injured.

“This student got into an altercation with other students. What we know is he had a red ball cap on. We do not know the student’s political views,” said Major Michael England of the Rockville Police Department.

The student suffered scrapes, cuts and knee abrasions.

Police say the investigation is ongoing.

    Did you actually read the WTOP report you referenced in your version of the story? It clearly says the student was ‘beaten’ not ‘injured’, says students did the beating, that one was accused by the Police in the beating, and that the student was beaten because he wore a red Trump hat.. To read your story, you could think he tripped over a curb or something to get the injuries. If you are going to be a news reporter, report the news, as WTOP did, not your watered down version designed to cover up the truth. Frankly, what you just illustrated is why people don’t trust the media, and part of why Trump was elected. Consider that before you write your next story – do some self-examination as to why you deliberately distorted the truth.
