MCPS Operations Update for Jan. 21

Montgomery County Public Schools has a planned professional day on Tuesday, January 21 and there is no school for students.

Due to emergency weather conditions, transportation to nonpublic special education schools is canceled. All school activities and community activities in school buildings are also canceled. Administrative offices will open on time, but will be reassessed later in the day.

Day care programs in school buildings may choose to open, but parents should check with their day care provider.  All in-service training programs are canceled.

Teachers who are scheduled to report to school can complete their grades by remote access on Tuesday.  The submission of grades to principals will be delayed by one day, until the end of the day on Wednesday, January 22, and principals will have until the end of the day on January 23rd to submit grades.  Teachers should check their work email for more information on submitting grades by remote.

Other school-based 10-month teachers scheduled to report to school may work from home on Tuesday. A liberal leave policy will be in effect for all 12-month employees.
