UPDATED MCPS Offering Free Lunches to Students at Three Schools on Jan. 27 (PHOTOS)
UPDATED Montgomery County Public Schools will be offering free lunches to students at three area schools on Wednesday, Jan. 27:
- Sargent Shriver Elementary School, between 12 p.m. and 1 p.m.
- Clopper Mill Elementary School, between 12 p.m. and 1 p.m.
- Gaithersburg Elementary School, between 12 p.m. and 2 p.m.
According to a MCPS news release, the lunches are being offered “to ensure that all students have access to health meals while schools are closed.”
Schools were chosen based on regions in the County that were easily accessible, MCPS spokesperson Derek Turner said. “The plan is to add more schools,” if schools remain closed, Turner said.
MCPS officials say a decision about school closures and delays will be made by 5 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 28.
