MCPS Expands its Meal Distribution Sites

Montgomery County Public Schools continue to expand the number of locations for its free grab and go meals.

Beginning Monday, more than 40 sites will be open from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Most are located outside schools but five are at apartment complexes.

As of last week, MCPS has distributed 87,000 meals. They are given out by the staff of MCPS’s Food and Nutrition Services.

These meals, which come in a bag, are free to anyone 18 years or younger. Youngsters do not have to attend a MCPS school to receive a meal. Reservations are not needed.

Backpack food sacks also are being given out on Friday for use over the weekends. The District is working with Manna Food to provide these nutritious meals.
