MCPS, Board of Education Discuss Ways to Get Back to In-Person Learning

It’s been nearly two weeks since Montgomery County Public Schools welcomed back about 160,000 students virtually. During the MCPS Board of Education’s virtual meeting on Thursday, ‘Opening Schools in Recovery of Education’ was the main topic of discussion.

MCPS shared with the board the work that has been done to ensure students and staff have all the resources they need to be successful on a virtual-only platform. MCPS officials also addressed the continuous efforts to bring students back to in-person learning at some point.

“In consultation with our county leadership and health officer, we continue to work on our plan for what in-person learning will be like when the appropriate health conditions are met,” said MCPS Superintendent, Dr. Jack Smith.
