As part of its “All Children Excel Initiative,” Montgomery County Public Libraries will now offer its Go! Kits in all 21 library branches.

MCPL introduced Go! Kits back in 2014 as an innovative way to introduce children to a variety of  concepts in science, technology, engineering and math.

Each kit includes two books about a specific STEM topic, a mini-tablet and a folder with age-appropriate activities.

“We released the first version of Go! Kits in 2014 at seven of our branches, and they have become a very popular, exciting way to help children learn and encourages them to explore the world around them,” MCPL Director Parker Hamilton said. “We included the expansion of Go! Kits to all branches in our FY17-20 Strategic Plan, and added more themes.”

There are two kits available for specific age groups. The Little Explore Go! Kits are for preschool children ages 3 through 6. The Young Voyagers Go! Kits were designed for elementary-aged students in grades 3 through 6.
