Montgomery County’s Department of Transportation has won a $300,000 Maryland Bikeways Program grant to prepare a final design for the Emory Lane and Muncaster Mill Road Shared Use Path.

The estimated 10-foot-wide and one-half mile path will be located along Emory Lane between Holly Ridge Road and Muncaster Mill Road, according to a news release.

The goal of this shared use path project is to provide safer bicycle and pedestrian access between the ICC  bike path along Georgia Avenue and the proposed North Branch Trail and Rock Creek Regional Park.
