MC Employees Federal Credit Union Recognized

Montgomery County Employees Federal Credit Union, (MC EFCU,) a full service financial institution, federally chartered as a credit union, was recently ranked seventh in the nation for 12-month credit card loan growth by the annual Callahan Credit Union Directory. The recognition highlights leaders in credit card lending for the one-year period ending June 30, 2012.

MC EFCU was the only credit union in Maryland highlighted as an industry leader in credit card growth, with 53.07 percent growth over 12 months. For 25 years, the Callahan Credit Union Directory has served as a widespread overview of the condition of the credit union industry. The directory is published annually and is used by credit union executives as a go-to reference for industry best practices and data.

“We’re proud to continue to grow in the quality and quantity of services available to our members, and especially in the success we’ve enjoyed in expanding our credit card program,” said Jim Norris, MC EFCU CEO. “We’re also excited about some additional opportunities we will be providing for our members, as we roll out our rewards program and other new services in the coming year.”

Recently, MC EFCU expanded its charter to be able to serve additional public sector employees from Montgomery County agencies, including employees and retirees from both Montgomery County Public Schools and Montgomery College. MC EFCU also provides an opportunity for membership to individuals who are supporting members of the non-profit ARC of Montgomery County.
